What is an endless pool?

About Endless Pools

In an Endless Pool, you swim against a consistent current which offers unique benefits over land-based exercise: improved strength and stamina with no trauma to joints, tendons, or bones.  With an endless pool you can swim, train, enjoy water exercise, and aquatic therapy.

Dual Propulsion

The Dual Swim Current allows two swimmers to utilize two independently controlled variable speed swim currents, complete with remote controls. With the optional swim pace display you can monitor progress and chart improvements.  Pictured to the right is a photo from the Endless Pool website for reference purposes of what a dual propulsion pool looks like.

What type of Endless Pool does SHWC have?

Sabetha Health & Wellness Center will have two, dual propulsion endless pools.  Each pool is 13' x 14' and will be approximately 4 feet deep.  This will allow up to four swimmers at one time. These pools will be used for adult lap swimming, small water aerobics classes, and aquatic therapy.  Children under 12 are not allowed in the pool and children 12-17 must be accompanied by an adult to swim.
